Words. They have the power to demoralize or energize, humiliate or elevate, weaken or strengthen. Every day each one of us, all beautifully made and wholly diverse, awakens and makes a choice for ourselves about how we’ll withstand inevitable suffering and rise to attain inner peace and healing.
Songwriter and musician Myles Travitz, who has released music through labels such as Atlantic Records and Ultra Music, wrote the lyrics and music to My Round. He then shared his words with members of our community.
With the production support of Contrast Creative, where Travitz is employed as an editor and audio technician, 20 beautiful and diverse humans inspired by the song came forward. They shared their deeply personal stories of hardship with us, along with their fervent desire to triumph over prejudice, illness, racism, sexism, abandonment and so much more. They spoke to how the lyrics and the music for My Round encouraged and motivated them to rise and become.
Contrast Creative made it their mission to tell and share 20 stories in 20 days. For the month of July 2019, Myles Travitz and Contrast Creative are sharing these compelling stories. On August 1, 2019, the #MyRound music video, shot in locations throughout the Triangle area of North Carolina, will be released. In totality, the intimate stories we’re telling are the stories of all of us.
