Challenge
In April 2014, Duke Raleigh Hospital held its first All Staff Event. This event was created for the hospital’s physicians, staff and volunteers with a goal to motivate and inspire all employees to embrace a unique system-wide commitment to transforming health care by becoming the best place to work, practice medicine and receive care. The All Staff video created by Contrast Creative in partnership with Duke Raleigh Hospital was integral to the event. This video featured three primary patient stories. “Into Africa: A Story of Healing” features neurosurgeon Dr. Michael Haglund and Duke Raleigh Hospital surgical team members who are not only saving the lives of Africans, but also helping to build the country’s first neurosurgery program.
Result
“Healing Africa” was presented at the 2014 Duke Raleigh Hospital All Staff Event to an audience of hospital employees. The video appears on the Duke Raleigh YouTube page.
The Duke Raleigh All Staff Event is still receiving positive feedback. It is hoped that the event will have a meaningful impact on Duke Raleigh Hospital employees by helping them connect hospital priorities with the honor of being able to serve patients during their greatest time of need. It is also anticipated that the All Staff Event video will help boost employee satisfaction and Patient Experience scores.
