Contrast Creative Closes 2008 With A Burst of Industry Awards
02.12.09

It may be 2009, but Contrast Creative is celebrating award victories from 2008. Notifications are continuing to pour in. “We worked harder than ever before in 2008, and as a result the Contrast team created some of its best work,” says Kathleen McDonald, Contrast’s VP and Creative Director. “Our excellence in photography, writing, and post production services all came together, and the industry noticed!”

As of October 2008 Contrast has won four international Ava Awards. The Ava Awards, which is judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, direction, shooting, and editing of audio-visual materials and programs.

Contrast captured three platinum awards, which are given to entries scoring 90 to 100 points and one gold award. The high scoring platinum awards were given to Contrast for the Alamance Regional Medical Center Inspire TV Campaign, and two training pieces for financial institution BB&T. These videos, which incorporated humor in training, include “BB&T Teller Idol” and “BB&T Leave It to Cleaver.” The gold award was given to Contrast for a video produced for Duke Integrative Medicine.

“Contrast Creative brings fresh imagination, state-of-the-art skill, unmatched expertise, and sophisticated thinking to everything they do,” says Isabel Geffner, Director of Communications for Duke Integrative Medicine. “They are incredibly easy to work with; they listen to and hear what the client needs; and they deliver a product—on budget and on time—that reflects the client’s goal. The video Contrast created will be the centerpiece for all of our promotional efforts. We believe it will serve to easily explain a complex idea to the public to encourage people to become a part of the community of health and healing we are creating at Duke Integrative Medicine.”

Some of these same production pieces, including the Duke Integrative Medicine video, won similar high accolades in other prestigious award competitions, including the Davey Awards, MarCom Awards, and SIAA Awards. The latter is the only advertising award to specifically recognize the achievements of the service industry.

“We will draw on our award successes from 2008 and strive to create even greater products for our clients in 2009,” says McDonald.
