Duke University Hospital’s annual All-Staff Event motivates and inspires the hospital’s more than 10,000 employees to embrace a unique system-wide commitment to transforming healthcare in the Triangle by continuing to lead the nation as one of the best places to work, practice medicine and receive care. Duke University Hospital contracts with Contrast Creative annually to develop all branding and graphic design, as well as produce a series of videos featuring inspirational patient and team stories. “Peddle to the Mettle: A Story of Endurance” shares the story of Ryan Switzer, a loving husband and father who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. With the support of his healthcare team at Duke University Hospital, Switzer faced his cancer, along with every setback head. Better yet, he continued–against all odds–to compete in Iron Man competitions during his treatment.
Results
The All-Staff Event, which was presented in many sessions over the course of week, featured informational and motivational remarks from Duke leadership, as well as videos produced by Contrast Creative. Based on survey results, the All Staff program is helping to boost Duke University Hospital’s work culture and patient satisfaction scores. “Peddle to the Mettle” is featured on the Duke Health YouTube page.
